Meet Our Team!
Carrie Qu
Project Manager
Heya, I am Carrie Qu!
TYP.G has given me wonderful experiences and a deeper understanding of different cultures and the youth around me in Toowoomba. Through our projects, it is nice to see that many youth in our community are connecting and are just as enthusiastic about promoting peace. I am looking forward to continue participating in the future projects and connecting more with the community.
Mahsa Nabizada
Mentor
I joined TYPG as a member after being invited to speak at an national interfaith conference in 2017. I love working with such a diverse young team of volunteers to work towards peace and harmony. Peace is a group project, that can be achieved with a United vision. Today, in our war-torn world, peace is more important than ever. It is truly tragic to see the injustices and inequalities our brothers and sisters across the world are facing. We are the human family and it pains me to see all that people in conflict seek are peace, security and a future yet they have been failed. We are now in a new era of conflict and violence which we must combat with our task of peace building through compassion, education and action.
Connie Qu
Vice-President
Hi! My name's Connie, a pleasure to meet you :).
Since 2018, I have been with TYP.G doing many wonderful things within the company of ten amazing young people. It has been a passion of mine to connect with all kinds of peoples and to learn about the different cultures around us, and being able to do that with TYP.G has been a blessing and an honour. I hope that in the times to come we will come out with more ideas and innovations to share with your communities, but until then, please continue to support us~
Fatemeh Hassani
Secretary
My name is Fatemeh Hassani and my favourite hobby is reading novels . I joined TYP.G in 2018 and my main reasons for that is as a refugee in Australia, I have witnessed the issues that young people, especially refugees go through such as racism and being excluded from the group sometimes. I think one reason for this issue is lack of knowledge.
When I heard about the TYP.G and their aim of promoting peace in Toowoomba city I wanted to contribute toward promoting peace as well as connecting with people and enhancing my knowledge about their culture. As a member of TYP.G the experience and knowledge that I gained have encouraged my personal growth and development.
Lena Nabizada
Project Manager
I am Lena Nabizada, and I am a youth advocate in the Toowoomba region. As a young person, I have a vision of creating a positive change in the world, and with this vision I have been able to volunteer and advocate for many different organizations. I am also a part of many youth groups that focuses on a variety of youth issues such as youth parliamentary involvement, youth connectivity and many more, plus I have been to create a bunch of projects helping to get the voice of youth heard in the community. Last year I had the privilege to launch my youth social enterprise, Strive Connecting, focusing on educating the youth on the topic of racism and being able to connect youths through their differences. and advocating for a better tomorrow.
Rheanca Lincoln
Project Manager
I joined TYPG because peace, harmony and love are crucial to creating an accepting society. In particular, promoting peace among the young people of Toowoomba is very beneficial for the future of the region. I love being part of a team that is for helping others and making the place we live just that little bit more progressive. Most of all, I love to seeing our young community become more connected, engaged and united through the projects we do.
In my spare five minutes off, I love to cook inclusive foods or have a hit on a tennis court!!
